Distance Education (DisEdu)

Policies and Procedures

System of Study

The independent nature of learning via distance education allows for considerable freedom of choice and therefore requires student initiative and individual work.

This type of distance education is instructor-led which means students are monitored and guided by a faculty member assigned to handle the course. A Course Syllabus will be provided to the students which will guide him until he finishes the course. Online learners are provided with CD based instructional materials which contain text, audio and video lectures and course presentations.

Learning Activities and major examinations are administered at the Learning Centers. Objective types, open-ended questions and research studies should be expected. Automatic checking of objective-type questions is available while the open-ended questions and research studies are manually checked and graded by the assigned faculty member. Virtual classrooms will be made available so that faculty members and students can "meet" on specified schedules for consultation and discussion to the course.
